Martin Fortier
SVP, Actuarial, Risk and Product
Martin Fortier serves as Senior Vice President, Actuarial, Risk, and Product for Securian Canada. With more than 25 years of leadership experience within the global insurance and financial services sectors, he is responsible for leading the Actuarial division, and also the Risk Management, Product, and Pricing departments. As part of his mandate, he focuses on bridging Securian Canada’s strategic vision and ambitious product innovation roadmap within a strong framework of corporate oversight. Martin leads a multi-disciplinary team that uses data and models to project the company’s performance, financial strength and develop innovative new products. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and of the Society of Actuaries and holds a Diploma in Corporate Governance. In his free time, Martin enjoys travelling, attending concerts, playing sports (hockey, badminton, tennis), hiking, cycling and working out while listening to music.
